Tacharikkal Amman Charitable and Educational Trust is formed to serve the members of the society in all walks
of life. The main contribution of the founder of the trust prior to its inception was in the field of Education. He used to reserve ten percent of his income to help the poor and meritorious students.
As the demand is more and the fund available is meager, he thought it is expedient to create a trust involving other generous people to take part in his mission through their contribution however small it is. As drops of water make the mighty ocean, small contributions when pooled together will enable us to help more and more deserving people.
To help the poor people irrespective of religion, caste creed or gender, in all possible way to lead a fruitful life and to help them in the hours of need.
To construct maintain and manage places of worship, community halls etc. for lectures discourses, debates and for advancement of scientific and spiritual knowledge
To publish and distribute texts and notebooks study materials to persons pursuing Hindu religious studies and philosophy and for the information of General public.
Thacharikkal temple is situated at the middle of pristine Ponthenpuzha Forest which is continuation of Sabarimala forests. The name of the hamlet is Alapra which is about 40 KM east of Kottayam. This temple is now getting attention all over the world due to the performance of Padyani, an ancient ritualistic festival lasting for 7 days every year.
